Netlife AS was founded in June 2000 in Førde (Sogn og Fjordane) by the three partners; Erik Stian Tefre, Frode Solheim and Knut Andreas Tefre. Starting up as a software development and services firm, Netlife started focusing on software for the digital imaging industry in January 2001, when a contract was signed between Netlife AS and Elite Foto - the largest chain of photo stores in Norway. Elite Foto was faced with a huge and complex challenge; prepearing their business model and their more than a hundred individual stores for the transition from the century old film based infrastructure to the new digital infrastructure. In close cooperation with both the chain management and member stores, Netlife developed a solution to the vast challenge - an end-to-end digital imaging connectivity system that was to become the predecessor for a new line of software products marketed today under the Netlife PhotoSuite brandname. In addition to the PhotoSuite software, the Netlife product range also includes through partners broadband network infrastructure. In 2003 Netlife entered a strategic collaboration with Fujifilm Norway, Fujifilm Finland and Fujifilm Sweden, giving the two companies exclusive rights for use and distribution of the PhotoSuite software in their respective home markets. Today, with more than 200 customer stores, Netlife has become one of the market leaders in software for the digital photofinishing industry in the Nordic region. |
